I have now emailed my tutor with regards to my ideas for the forthcoming initial assignment. After a shaky start in trying to expand on sublimity and how to convey it in my photographs, I think I have finally chosen my subject. The brief is to produce photographs, within the context of landscape, to convey your own personal interpretation of beauty and/or the sublime.
Choosing a subject was originally challenging but after a lot of test shoots and out and about walks I found a subject I can work with to my individual ideas. But as an extra, I am hoping to expand on those ideas using technical details to see if they can enhance either the beauty or the sublime factors within the image.
I'm thinking at this stage to explore factors such as time of day, weather, black and white, shutter speed, focal length and camera angle.
I await the response from my tutor to give appropriate feedback and advice and see what I can produce.
