I have really been dreading this chapter and the critical review. I have found a lot of the essays that we have had to read so far in this course particularly challenging as I am not very academic and have trouble reading such work. Along with my previous assignment submission, I explained to my tutor that all my concerns and he has given great advice with regards to this. He suggested using one of the assignments submitted so far as a base point for the essay, so that it is something that I have learned upto this point and yet a subject that I have an understanding on with regards to researching more on the topic.
I explained that out of my previous assignments, I particularly enjoyed Assignment 2 where I explored the idea of using Google Street Maps to produce photographs. My tutor agreed and gave me some research ideas and a title for my essay, so this really helped me have a jump off point.
The timing issue is still a huge factor and I'm not sure if I am going to be able to fit in enough information in such little time, due to a mix up with my course length, to base my essay on but I can only do my best. I would like to look at the work of Rafman and Wolf in particular and their acceptance as photographers.
